Globacom has fulfilled its promise of making millionaires out of its subscribers as 20 of them emerged millionaires in the ‘Glo overload N120m promo’.
The promotion was one of the five-mega offerings introduced by the telecommunications company late last year to make the Yuletide and New Year celebrations exciting for its subscribers.
Winners who collected their cheques included Rafiu Alao, a professional driver; Idase Edafe, Kafayat Odusile, Mustapha Adebayo, Oluwatosin Alade, Abimbola Oderemi and Adeshina Adeyemi, among others.
One of the winners, 40-year-old Mustapha Adebayo who lives in Akowonjo area of Egbeda, Lagos, said he found it difficult to express himself when the reality that he had become a millionaire dawned on him.
According to Adebayo, he probably would not have believed it if any number other than Globacom’s 121 had called him.
The winner, who works as a security consultant?, thanked Globacom for keeping its promise to its subscribers while adding that the company “has gained leadership of the telecoms market in Nigeria because of its consistent commitment to the welfare of its subscribers.”
He said, “Globacom has always exhibited interest in the well-being of Nigerians, I am not surprised that this is happening to me. It is consistent with Globacom’s reputation built over the years.”
While presenting the cash prize of N1m to each of the 20 lucky subscribers in the first phase of the promo, Globacom’s Sales Director, Mr. Kenneth Hall, said, “Globacom is all about sharing happiness, excitement and empowering our people,” adding that the presentation is part of the several ways the company has empowered the people.
“Since it launched operations in August, 2003, Globacom has held several promotions with winners emerging from all corners of the country. Our promos have changed the lives of our lucky subscribers which include students, teachers, civil servants, drivers, artisans, members of the armed forces, traders and other categories of Nigerians as they have all benefited from these schemes by winning millions of naira in cash prizes, different brands of exotic cars, motorcycles, generators and airtime.
“This stems from our desire to positively affect the lives of our subscribers. We are not only committed to the provision of quality telephony services, we are equally enthusiastic about empowering Nigerians, wherever they may live,” Hall said.
